TURCK BI and NI UProx3 Inductive Proximity Sensors
Turck uprox inductive proximity sensors offer an operating distance up to 4x a standard inductive sensor for non-ferrous targets, switching frequencies up to 10 times faster than standard inductive sensors, and no correction factor, with the same rated operating distance for all metals.
Available in barrel or rectangular styles, with a shielded (BI) or non-shielded (NI) coil, sensing ranges from 0.08 to 100mm, with analog, PNP, NPN, NAMUR outputs or digital communications. Sensor enclosures come in a variety of materials to meet most environments, including stainless steel, Viton, PTFE, and FDA-approved washdown enclosures.
Turck uprox inductive proximity sensors offer the largest switching distance of all Factor 1 sensors on the market to count objects, detect position, and monitor speed. Their patented design includes weld field immunity, making uprox sensors unaffected by strong AC or DC electromagnetic fields.
BI series embeddable (shielded) sensors can be safely flush-mounted in metal. NI series non-embeddable (non-shielded) units require a metal-free area around the sensing face.

It is good engineering practice to mount sensors horizontally or with the sensing face looking down. Avoid sensors that look up wherever possible, especially if metal filings and chips are present.
