KTX Prime contrast sensors detect differences between two colors by measuring the amount of light reflected by the target. Featuring a familiar hole pattern, high-precision RGB LED and VISTAL® housing impresses with TwinEye-Technology, color mode, high 50 kHz switching frequency, excellent gray line resolution, 7-segment display and IO-Link. The response time of 10 µs and a jitter of 5 µs ensure accurate detection of contrast differences, even at high machine speeds.
Teach-in processes, integrated color mode and variable sensor adjustment make commissioning more flexible and the processes more stable. The KTX Prime provides additional diagnosis and analysis data via IO-Link.
- Switching Output NPN/PNP:
- NPN stands for Negative, Positive, Negative. An NPN output is commonly called a sinking output. When the sensor senses an object it will connect the output to the negative supply.
- PNP stands for Positive, Negative, Positive. A PNP output is commonly called a sourcing output. When it senses an object it will connect the output to the positive supply.
- Understanding switching modes:
- Ligh switching - Sensor switches its output ON when the light beam is returned to the receiver. If normally open operation is required, a light switching diffuse sensor can be used.
- Dark switching - Sensor switches its output ON when the light beam is blocked from returning the beam to the receiver. If normally open operation is required, a dark switching retro reflective or through beam sensor could be used.
- Light/dark switching does both light and dark switching modes
- Common Applications: Print mark detection for controlling the cutting process, print control in the printing industry, positioning tubes, label alignment on bottles, wafer monitoring, roll-end monitoring, color control in yarn or line production
