Air Bubbler Systems: Old Faithful Liquid Level Measurement
In an ideal world there would be a perfect liquid level measurement system that would work for every liquid and every application. Unfortunately, that product does not yet exist, leaving operators and technicians to go through the trial-and-error process of finding the level instrumentation that will work for them.
So, in this high-tech world, is there still a need for pneumatic systems like air bubblers? The answer is YES! Why? Because air bubbler systems still work when other systems fail.
Air bubbler systems will work with the more difficult of liquids such as sewage, sludge, drainage water and any other liquid with suspended solids. They can be used in small diameter pipes, reaching areas that other systems can’t. Bubblers will not fail if there is foam on the surface of your liquid tank or in the presence of vapors.
When the bubbler panel is mounted in a safe area, its regulated air outlet can be piped into and through a hazardous area to the level point of measurement in a tank or pit because air is intrinsically safe, so there’s no electrical components to account for. Plus, the bubbler’s outlet gas (typically air or nitrogen) can be used for level measurements in very hot liquids that do not support other level technologies.
Lesman Bubbler panels are designed with tried-and-true off-the-shelf industrial components for maximum stability, robustness and service life. There is no PLC and therefore no PLC software to become outdated. The panel’s blow-down purge uses simple timer/relay logic.
The bubbler panel comes pre-configured, ready to use for your specific level requirements. Your only task upon receipt of the panel is to mount it, provide 120VAC electrical power, pipe supply air/gas to it, pipe the outlet air/gas to a dip tube and it’s ready to work.
In the past, if you wanted a bubbler for your liquid level application, you had to buy all the components (a constant flow regulator, a pressure transmitter, a digital readout, and all the associated components for purge blow-down operation). Then, you’d need to assemble, wire and plumb them yourself. But that’s not the case anymore. Kele Industrial will provide you with a complete, ready-to-operate air bubbler panel to provide you with a working level measurement out-of-the-box.
