Wireless industrial radio links offer reliable solutions for the cost of traditional cable, conduit, and installation, and provide highly reliable data communication in harsh and interference-rich environments. Retrofitting an existing system with cable-based circuits involves digging trenches, laying conduit, erecting scaffolding and installing the cable itself. Cost and complexity multiply when the signals must pass through obstacles like streets, railroad tracks or waterways.
